About Career Services Centre

You may not have realised it, but YOU have just clicked your way to a bright and successful career. You are probably curious now and wondering what this is all about. Please read on...

As an ITE alumnus , you can consider yourself privileged to have received a world-class technical education in Singapore, to prepare you for the World of Work in a fast -changing and progressive economy. Your teachers have put in their best efforts to provide you with the necessary training and the use of modern equipment. On your part, you have also made every effort to learn as much as you could. However, knowledge and skills are not adequate if you want to achieve and excel in your future careers! A missing link is work experience, preferably relevant to your education. Here's where we can give YOU a helping hand !

Career & Job Opportunities
The Career Services Centre regularly organises activities and job fairs to provide additional sources for graduating students and graduates who are seeking job opportunities or considering further training. Details of job fairs (eg eCareerFair, physical career fairs) and activities (eg upgrading training opportunities, scholarships) are announced at the 'Alumni Happenings' webpage. Career Counselling
Uncertain about the type of jobs to apply for or wish to discuss your career plan?   We will be pleased to help you identify your interests, personality, job prospects and educational needs.

Know Your Career Interest and Skills
If you wish to know more about your career interests and abilities, you are encouraged to take an online psychometric test which will help you to identify specific occupational groups and what jobs are out there for you based on your skills. Uncover the tasks, experience, education and training needed for your next career move. It's an essential tool to make tough career planning decisions and find careers you might not otherwise explore. Advice on job interviews, resume writing and job-matching
Having difficulties in writing that resume? Want to know the tips about attending interviews?   We also offer advice on job interview skills, resume writing skills, job search skills and career information. A detailed career handbook entitled "Effective Job Hunting : The ITE Way" is available for all students and alumni to enhance your success in finding a job.

ITE Alumni Mentor Scheme
A new ITE Alumni Mentor Scheme has been implemented to provide a channel for recent graduates & alumni to obtain career advice and guidance from ITE mentors who were ITE graduates. The mentors are successful entrepreneurs or professionals in their own areas of technical specialisation and will be able to share their personal experience and provide career guidance to alumni. Alumni who wish to seek career advice in planning their career development may make use of this scheme to consult the mentors without charge.

You may email your queries to CSC which will forward your queries to the relevant mentors for their response. CSC will thereafter reply to your queries. Please note that by submitting your queries to CSC, it is assumed that you have agreed to the "Terms & Conditions" which are applicable to this mentor scheme. In your email, please provide your full name and NRIC No. for verification purpose. Click here to email to CSC.

Information resources on occupations
Feel free to drop in at the CSC (located at ITE headquarter, Podium B Level 2, 10 Dover Drive, Singapore 138683, Tel : 6590 2566) to watch video tapes on work attitudes, read books on resume writing skills, or make use of the PCs to access the internet to search for jobs or materials on career information. For latest update on industry and manpower trends as well as occupational information such as skills needed, employment conditions and wages, please logon to WDA's website, called 'Career Compass', at http://app.careercompass.gov.sg/front/home.aspx.
